Thursday, Sept. 15

Talks@Temple Symposium

The Talks@Temple global thought leadership series invites bold discourse about pressing topics at the intersection of learning and work. Talks@Temple highlights the most knowledgeable figures from academia, the corporate sector, the arts, entertainment and more to tackle challenging subjects and share perspectives.

This first talk will feature Temple University President Jason Wingard in conversation with Oscar-nominated director M. Night Shyamalan

The second talk will be moderated by Valerie Harrison, vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion at Temple. It will feature a roundtable discussion with Erika Irish Brown, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer and global head of talent at Citi; Reginald J. Miller, vice president, global chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at McDonald’s; and Maxine Williams, chief diversity officer at Meta (formerly Facebook).

Rite of Swing Jazz Café

Led by Artistic Director Professor Terell Stafford, Temple University’s Rite of Swing Jazz Café is now in its 8th season of weekly performances. Sponsored in part by the Temple University General Activity Fee, the Temple Performing Arts Center, and the Boyer College of Music and Dance, the Jazz Café features Boyer College student ensembles, Boyer College faculty ensembles, local and regional professional ensembles, and national touring acts.

Friday, Sept. 16

Investiture Ceremony

The Board of Trustees formally welcomes President Wingard as the 12th president of Temple University. Sen. Cory Booker will deliver the investiture keynote address and broadcast journalist Tamron Hall will emcee the event. The ceremony will reflect President Wingard’s strategic priorities and the university’s role as a leader in higher education, emphasizing the themes of opportunity, the future of learning and work, discovery, and community. Cherry & White Access Gala

The Cherry & White Access Gala is a fundraising event that benefits Temple University students in their pursuit of a college education. The gala will showcase Temple’s excellence in performing and visual arts. Ledisi, Grammy-winning performer and recording artist, will headline the event.

Saturday, Sept. 17

Tailgate Village and TU Philly Fest

Join us in the biggest tailgate and community festival of the year before the biggest game of the year when the Owls take on Rutgers University. Find your school, college, regional chapter, affinity group, department, organization and more to reconnect with your fellow Owls and celebrate the Temple community. Learn more about Temple’s Tailgate Village and TU Philly Fest.

Homecoming Game

Show your Temple pride at the 2022 Homecoming Game. This year, the Owls face off against the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights in an American Athletic Conference matchup at Lincoln Financial Field. Learn more about Temple’s Homecoming Game.
